Introduction

Night bus services running through the night in and around Glasgow now consist mainly of daytime routes that also run late at night. Special fares apply on some of the services.

First in Glasgow, the dominant bus operator in Glasgow, runs several of its “Overground” routes through the night at weekends, up to every 15 minutes on journeys from the city centre. The company also runs daytime routes from Glasgow to Airdrie, Cumbernauld, Eaglesham, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Newton Mearns and Wishaw through the night at weekends. Some other routes have journeys leaving the city centre after midnight, and these are included here. See timetable pages for full details. First has a webpage of its own promoting its night bus services.

Scottish Citylink runs its Glasgow to Edinburgh service through the night at weekends and has a late night journey each way during the week. There is also Arriva 24-hour Glasgow Airport shuttle service and Dodds of Troon operates an overnight journey to Prestwick Airport. Stagecoach Western runs weekend night services between Glasgow and Ayrshire. Harte Buses runs a Saturday night service between Glasgow and Greenock.
