Shown here are both official and unofficial cycle routes to the South East of Glasgow, along with some other suggested links.
NB: Not to scale.
The National Cycle Network Route 75 runs across the northern part of this area, meandering through eastern Glasgow, Uddingston, Tannochside and Coatbridge. Once past Airdrie it improves and runs direct to Bathgate. The meandering starts again in Livingston, but the route improves on the approach to Edinburgh.
National Cycle Network Route 74 crosses this area, running from Uddingston through Bothwell, Blantyre, Hamilton, to Chatelherault Country Park and Larkhall. The section through Stonehouse and Lesmahagow has yet to be developed. The route south from Douglas is already complete, and passes through Abington, Lockerbie and Gretna before crossing the border into England.
