This route links an important river crossing in western Glasgow, the Clyde Tunnel, to the largest town in Renfrewshire, Paisley.
The Clyde Tunnel has two tunnels that pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to use, the northbound and southbound cycle tunnels. Depending on engineering work it may be that only one is open, in which case users are allowed to use it in either direction, although cyclists are asked to walk. From the southbound tunnel exit, turn right into Govan Road, then left at the roundabout into Moss Road. From the northbound tunnel exit, turn right into Burghead Place, turn left into Peninver Drive and left into Moss Road. Cross Moss Road and take the cycle path on the right hand side of the road. (It would be nice if the cycle path actually linked up properly for southbound cyclists.) At the end of the cycle path carry straight on into Langcroft Road, right at the corner and then left into Cowden Street.
At the end of Cowden Street, cross over Shieldhall Road at the Pelican Crossing and go into Fulbar Road. At the end of this street, go up the ramp to the footbridge. Cross the footbridge over the M8 motorway, cross Fifty Pitches Road, and then the footbridge over the railway. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right into Queensland Drive. Take the second right into Ladykirk Drive, which becomes Chirnside Road. At the far end, go down a ramp on the right and cross Sandwood Road at the Toucan Crossing. Carry straight on then take the first left, Deanfield Quadrant, and right into Barshaw Road. Take the first left, Craigmuir Road and first right, Corse Road. Just before the main road at the end, turn left into Penilee Terrace. Take the path at the end of this road over the small hill into Paisley. Turn right and go into Kinpurnie Road which becomes Oldhall Road. Cross over Glasgow Road into Gartmore Road. At the end of this road, turn left into Hawkhead Road, then right at the roundabout into Seedhill Road. This road leads to Paisley Town Centre.
To get to main area in the town centre from Seedhill Road, cross over the main road, Mill Street, to follow the path in front of the Renfrewshire Council offices. Cross another main road, Bridge Street, and use Abbey Close. This ends up at Gauze Street. Continue into Smithhills Street and first left into Central Road to get to Paisley Gilmour Street Station. Turn right from Central Road into Gilmour Street to get to the Renfrewshire Council cycle route to Glasgow Airport. Carry straight on along Smithhills Street for the unofficial cycle route to Renfrew.
