Official Routes in Brief

The National Cycle Network Route 75 runs across the northern part of this area, meandering through eastern Glasgow, Uddingston, Tannochside and Coatbridge. Once past Airdrie it improves and runs direct to Bathgate. The meandering starts again in Livingston, but the route improves on the approach to Edinburgh.

National Cycle Network Route 74 will cross this area once it is built, running from Uddingston (and perhaps eastern Glasgow) through Strathclyde Park, Hamilton, Stonehouse and Lesmahagow to near Douglas. The route south from Douglas is already complete, and passes through Abington, Lockerbie and Gretna before crossing the border into England.
