Unofficial Cycle Routes - Shettleston to Cambuslang

This route avoids the need to use the busy main Clydeford Road, with its 60mph speed limit and roundabouts, or tackle the M74 motorway junction at Fullarton Road. Instead, it passes through a cemetery and links into Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 75 to get to Cambuslang.

Starting in Shettleston Road, turn into Wellshot Road, pass Tollcross Park and continue straight across Tollcross Road into Braidfauld Street. Turn right into Benholm Street and fork left into Prosen Street. At the end, turn left into Downfield Street. Cross the main A74 London Road to get to the cemetery gates.

Enter the cemetery via the right-hand-most of the gates. Follow the track through the graveyard and turn left at the T-junction at the end. Follow this track round to the right away from the cemetery to meet the Sustrans riverside path. Turn left onto this path.

At Cambuslang Investment Park the path turns left up towards the main road, then right to continue along the river.

At the next set of bridges, turn right to cross the river to Cambuslang. Turn right again to go up Bridge Street to reach the Main Street and the station.
